  3. I picked up #ChrisBrooks' hilariously-named “Viking Shred Guitar” course in a sale a month or so ago, and I have to say I’m really enjoying it. I have no particular desire to emulate Malmsteen’s style (the “Yng Way”, as Chris loves to term it) but I’m not silly enough to think there’s nothing to learn there.

    Chris’ style is highly engaging, and his deep analysis of Yngwie’s playing style, technique and mechanics have given me much more of an insight into how I move - and once you’re aware of it, you can control it. With practice.

    Anyway - recommended.

I have no particular desire to emulate Malmsteen’s style (the “Yng Way”, as Chris loves to term it) but I’m not silly enough to think there’s nothing to learn there.

    Chris’ style is highly engaging, and his deep analysis of Yngwie’s playing style, technique and mechanics have given me much more of an insight into how I move - and once you’re aware of it, you can control it. With practice.
