PSA for those who trust Intuit with their finances: I had to unlock a checking account because some scammer ordered checks in their name with my account number and cashed one at a California-based credit union.
Here’s the kicker: the checks were ordered through Intuit, owner of QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Credit Karma! Yeah, that Intuit didn’t verify the account owner and still labeled the check “PROTECTED AGAINST FRAUD.” Sure, it is, Intuit. Sure, it is. 😏
