  1. @corin_ja
Thanks. I was looking for tunes that had time/tempo changes or varying time signatures as a way to mash into the #Vortex theme...
Given the length of my preferred choice (which we just heard) I suspect my second offering with the multiple time signatures may not have made the cut but we'll find out...

  3. @peachfront I was educated in the 70s and 80s in Australia, and all education was free for me, including university. Back then, there were private schools, but the majority of Australians attended public schools. The focus was on equal access to quality education for everyone, regardless of their background. It’s disheartening to see how much has changed, with growing inequality in our education system today.#AustraliaEducation #PublicEducation #FreeEducation #EqualAccess #ChangingTimes

  8. It strikes me that those living through the black death had no concept of the renaissance that followed and few among us can conceive of how plagues and climate change will shape our futures. Then as now we're all just muddling through as best we know how. All I know is that whatever the future holds be kind and choose love first. #ChangingTimes #NewYear #Covid #ClimateChange #Future #Love #Kindness

Looking at the entry for "emission" in the #NewIrishEnglishDictionary at focloir.ie, I see the Irish word "astaíocht" (the preposition "as" means "out") and the the expected focus on gases in the examples.

Back-checking the entry for "astaíocht" in the 1977 #FoclóirGaeilgeBéarla at teanglann.ie, we see that, back then, "emission" was a term associated with W(ireless) Tel(elgraphy?).

  13. It revealed their Dad was in Hospital, ICU. I feared the worst, and waited.

And visited their profile, to see if they had logged in. No, which seemed to confirm sad news had happened. And I was just surprised to receive a letter.

Yes, Dad had passed away, and the family had a very difficult time.

I don't know if you all realize, but I believe we are living in a Historic moment. Many things will change, and in the Future, people will ask you, me, us that were here, how was that moment, that year, which is uncertain how, but I feel will change many things.

    Irreversibly, probably.

  14. * A Memorial, Sympathy stamp is needed. *

    We are losing many people.

Hello all, sorry to bother you again, so soon after my last Topic. But I just received a letter from a friend from the UK, a #Slowly pen pal, who I had last written this :

I hope this letter finds you and your family well. I have been thinking about you, last time we wrote to each other you mentioned that your Father was in hospital, and I imagine how much that saddened and affected you. I had thought about it, but didn't want to intrude so I kept thinking of writing, and then leaving it.

My letter was sent on May 9th. It had been weeks since their last letter - on March 24th.
