As to the history of the Revolution, my Ideas may be peculiar, perhaps Singular. What do we mean by the Revolution? The War? That was no part of the Revolution; it was only an Effect and Consequence of it. The Revolution was in the Minds of the People, and this was effected, from 1760 to 1775, in the course of fifteen Years, before a drop of blood was shed at Lexington.

A quotation from Adlai Stevenson
Laws are never as effective as habits. The fight for equal rights must go on every day in our own souls and consciences, in our schools and our churches and our homes, in our factories and our offices — as well as in our city councils, our state legislatures and our national Congress.
Adlai Stevenson (1900-1965) American diplomat, statesman
Speech (1952-08-28), “Faith in Liberalism,” State Committee of the Liberal Party, New York CityMore info about this quote: wist.info/stevenson-adlai-ewin…

Politicians of our day have tried to make a case that #wakingup is a negative thing. Being #woke is some kind of sin we are told. Whereas it is the very meaning of #metanoia or #changeofheart and #consciousness. https://bit.ly/4kxtIcG

I'm a confident enough person to admit that I'm changing my mind. About #KamalaHarris. I was not particularly excited about her as a candidate back in 2020, but come on; she was up against possibilities like Elizabeth Warren. When Biden chose her as veep, it seemed a fairly cynical demographic "expand the tent" move, predictable and understandable. I didn't like the fact that the Dems went with someone whose major career was a prosecutor. Honestly, I still don't think there was much need to learn more about her, then. Biden ended up the nominee and I voted for him even though I was quite a bit less excited about him than about any of the other faces on the screens, including Harris.
Biden outperformed my expectations, despite also doing some stuff that makes me want to cry.
I'm having to learn more about Harris now, and I now think she will make a much more interesting president (to me) than anyone In my lifetime. That's a really fucking low bar, but I find I'm actually getting excited about her candidacy. Weird.
She'll disappoint me many times, as Biden has, but (ojalá) not nearly as much as Obama did; and she probably won't horrify me on a weekly (Bush) or hourly (Trump) basis. All in all: Go Harris.
I was obviously going to vote for her, even if she was an actual lizard person, given the alternative. Now, however, I'm thinking I might even vote enthusiastically. It's been a while since I did that.
