Hey everybody, in case you missed it, today: August 4, 2026 is the exact day Ray #Bradbury picked to end the world, 76 years ago.

"There Will Come Soft Rains" 's title was a nod to Sara #Teasdale's "There Will Come Soft Rains," written in 1918 in reflection of the losses of the First World War and the influenza pandemic, and premised that the natural world would barely register humanity's disappearance.

Here's a pdf link, in case you'd like to reread it. It, in my opinion, is among the best short stories every written. (Granted, I'm a Bradbury fan girl.)
