Another potential #typhoon in the making. TD 27W will likely become Tropical Storm #Matmo on Thursday morning local time, and make its first landfall on Luzon, Philippines on Friday morning. After re-emerging in the South China Sea, it will intensity to typhoon strength, before making its second landfall near Zhanjiang, China on Sunday morning.
Matmo is a #Chamorro word for "heavy rain". What's Chamorro, you ask? That's the name of the indigenous people of the Mariana Islands.
