Please let me brag a little about this: me, a humble amateur astronomer, together with one of the most renowned amateur astronomer-spectroscopists of this planet, have recently published a paper for the Journal of the AAVSO consisting of a photometric and spectroscopic analysis performed of the star AS Cas, which is an anomalous type of the *del Cephei* type of stars.

Lead, and what it does (and doesn't) tell you about the age of the Earth

The fact that we can estimate the Earth's age, over a 4.5 billion year span, to within 1% accuracy, is pretty flippin' amazing.

And yes, lead plays a role. Though some people get that wrong.
