Oh no. I apparently can't just sand off the rust. I've to "reseal" the metal afterwards.
Apparently after sanding off the rust I've to drench it in acetone followed by heating it up to 300-400C and then quench it in either WD40 or vegetable (cooking) oil.
So uhm, how do you evenly heat rack rails up to 300-400C?
And where do I get a large enough heat resistant container to pore the oil into?This is way harder than I thought it would be....
