Honestly, the open standards internet is still there, beneath the surface. 😁 I've got my user generated content here on the #fediverse, my spoken word content in #Castamatic powered by open #RSS feeds and #Podcasting20, I read my articles in @NetNewsWire, again from regular ole RSS, and I can chat on #IRC or @matrix. It may not be the mainstream any more unfortunately, but it's still alive and going, protect it.

How come there’s only a couple of #podcast players that can show #episode-specific #artwork? #Castamatic is best so far. #PodcastRepublic shows it too, but being Android-first it doesn’t feel great on #iOS. These apps (and many others) don’t show episode artwork: Apple #Podcasts, #Overcast, #PocketCasts, #Downcast, #Castro, #iCatcher. Unfortunate.

@awoodsnet Interesting. I don't know #Podverse and #Castamatic. I've been really happy with #Castro in the past year though, so I see no specific need to migrate at this point. But if I'm ever in the market for a new podcast app I'll keep those in mind.
