A multifunctional building in #Zurich, overall looking like a boring box. However, some of the precast #concrete #facade panels are shaped like #caryatids! In theory a great idea: using precasting, one could create sculptural, durable and cheap ornamental elements, exactly what I would love to see!
But why like this? Why are there no heads? Why aren't the caryatids carrying anything? Why is there no roof to protect them from rainwater? A missed opportunity. 2000 #architecture #facade -
