When I saw the description, I thought, "Huh, I think I have a good idea of what happened. I'll read this and then go look for what I must be remembering."

Then, I read:
"The Vox explainer written by Emily St. James really is a great explainer on what happened to Fall and I recommend everyone take a read to get the full picture. We also did an episode of Cancel Me, Daddy with St. James about Fall and the piece."

Well, that explains it. I was remembering this episode and the Vox article. Thank you, @transscribe and #CancelMeDaddy for keeping me well informed.

I just realized that my weekend coding project amounts to canceling myself.

I'm analyzing a large batch of my internet comments, archived from 12 years ago, using a LLM to automate discussion summaries and classify comments.

I have done a lot of growing up since then, and our culture is a lot better in discouraging ableism, transphobia, and more. I wonder if there's any educational value to others if I write this all up and make a blog post about it. Hmm.
