@cbcnews For more than a decade #CanadaPost management have been driving the corporation into the ground and putting workers and the public at risk. This #Canadian corporation could easily work with employees to bolster the organization and support workers and citizens. Rather than privatizing or denying access to basic services, Canada Post could offer postal banking, passport services, federal govt navigation and information services, etc.

When I walked uptown to run an errand today (taking pictures of cycle parking infrastructure!😀 ) I had an encounter that I had hoped might happen. I met up with our neighbourhood Canada Post letter carrier. I was able to tell her that I support her union's job action, and that I'm angry that the federal government forced postal workers back to work today. And I wished her well.

Yep, "eight years ago the postal workers put forward Delivering Community Power, a comprehensive plan to transform #CanadaPost into a vibrant 21st century public service." But years of incompetent management are driving this essential service into the ground. https://breachmedia.ca/government-is-suppressing-postal-workers-it-should-be-learning-from-their-innovative-ideas/

Of course the loss of vital #publicServices delivered by #CanadaPost are posing problems of all kinds for #Canadians because this is an #essentialservice. Workers delivering these services should be treated as such and compensated fairly. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/canada-post-strike-iqaluit-teenager-diabetes-1.7409943
