I've posted previously that my Good Morning #Canada content is primarily for my edification. This past series, #CCG_Week , has been one of my favourite - right up there with #BeaverWeek. I got hooked by the combination of service, technology, nature and personal stories. There's still a lot of interesting content that I'll likely release in the months ahead. Perhaps we need a series on #DND and the #RCMP.

THE CGS Stanley (CGS = Canadian Government Ship) was Canada's 1st #Icebreaker , launched in 1888. But the 1st #CCGS Icebreaker was the 96m John A. Macdonald, a heavy icebreaker launched in 1960 and transferred in 1962 into the newly created Canadian Coast Guard. It remained in service until being decommissioned in 1991. Canadian inventors have contributed greatly to protective items to keep us safe in intense situations, like the jock strap and the Wonderbra. So today, we'll share a little known invention by Fred Marsh that has almost totally eliminated injuries caused by a collision with a hockey net.
