    When I'm working on a #TravelCanada post I sometimes realize that I don't give Saskatchewan a lot of attention. I apologize to the Saskies in my audience. To celebrate the province's 121st anniversary of joining Canada (Sept 1st, 1905), here are 3 #ProvincialParks that are hidden gems. Remember, when you're taking the grids it's local courtesy to wave or nod as you drive by.

    Apparently it's International Bacon Day - not to be confused with Bacon Lovers Day (August 20th) or National Bacon Day (December 20th). And you are only allowed to celebrate with #Bacon, not Back Bacon or Peameal Bacon. Follow the rules and no one gets hurt.
    Here's a public service announcement from the Canadian Pork Council explaining why reducing our meat intake is unhealthy. I trust them...

    Yesterday's post on Skyscrapers elicited a response from @wordstitcher asking if a list of old Post Office buildings existed. I couldn't find one but did discover the Heritage Railway Station Act that has saved 150+ stations across Canada. Many are unique "Chateau" styled buildings that are still in use or have been repurposed as libraries or community centres.

    If you're interested in the Ontario Line transit project in Toronto, the 15.6 km subway line that will cost $34B, then this post is for you. The line will bring 15 new stations to the city, reducing congestion and improving access. This documentary provides some history, an excellent overview of the entire project, and explains a little bit about how Ford's policies have contributed to tripling the original budget.

    It's National Fishing Day, which means that with over two million lakes and rivers that flow into five major ocean drainage basins, Canadians will be pulling on hip waders and checking tackle boxes. There are 3.5M recreational anglers in Canada, plus another 700K (ish) tourists, driving a $1.75B dollar industry. The fishing capital of Canada is Kingston, Ontario... according to Kingston area "experts."
