This week PM Carney announced the building of 6 new #Icebreakers for the #CCG - Canadian Coast Guard services. In commemorate that event I think we need a #CCG_Week full of #History , facts and stories about this important department. The CCG was officially announced in 1962, although many of its responsibilities were handled by various ministries dating back to 1867. Fasten your life jackets for the week ahead. -

Canada gets a lot of criticism for the smoke from #Wildfire but we can be proud of our dominance in the production of #ForestFire fighting aircraft. Any country flying a purpose built water bomber likely owns a small fleet of CL-215 or CL-415 aircraft. The CL-415 can scoop up to 6,140 L of water from a nearby water source and drop it on a fire without having to return to base to refill its tanks.#CanadaIsAwesome #AviationHistory

If you're looking for a unique #TravelCanada destination then Flin Flon has to be on your list. You may wonder why I'd recommend a mining town with a funny name. Flin Flon was named after a character in a 1905 #SyFy novel and is one of two towns in Canada that is separated by a provincial border.
