Working-class experience of library work and LIS is rarely explored in the literature, so our work was meant in part as a contribution to improve this situation.
We wrote something that we wanted to read, and we would love to contributions and reflections from the audience at #CALC23.
There are a few tickets left, to book: https://sites.google.com/view/calcconference/calc2023

Getting the #CALC23 planning done with @rosiehare, @DFlynnLib and Dr Teresa Crew for our conference session on working-class experiences of libraries and connections to our work and #infolit.
Social class in LIS tends to be popular when actually explored, and we hope this session will prove so. 🧡

At #CALC23 we'll explore libraries as sites of classed marginalisation and exclusion and our experiences as HE workers, but also celebrate the value of working-class cultural capital using Yosso's concept of community cultural wealth.
We'll be a bit Bourdieusian and very #Critlib.
We want library workers of working-class heritage to know you are seen and this is for you. 🧡
