Mapping the sockets to the default $D400 register space is a breeze in the UI. Very well done!

  11. I got my C64 Ultimate! So much fun. I hooked it up via HDMI directly to our TV, plugged in 2 joysticks, and played 3-player Bomberland with my kids (I used the keyboard controls). We typed in some simple BASIC commands. It was a blast.

  15. I notice something utterly weird yesterday when using my C64. My typing patterns reverted to 12 year old me muscle memory, when I learned to type so my Dad would let us get a printer for the house.

My early typing years were either a C64, or a manual typewriter.

    However, the switched +/-, ", *, ↑, etm.

  17. Does anyone know if there's an easily-procured vinyl or antistatic keyboard dust cover that fits the #Commodore 64U? #C64U #C64

  22. Hello. I would like to hear from #c64u users who have upgraded to 1.1.0 and have tried using a mouse.

In spite of setting up GeOS properly for mouse input, my M325 acted funky, as well as a regular steelseries mouse. I have heard others having similar oddities.

There may be something I missed.

  27. @deanjimmy

My heart lept! I had a 2600 with the same form factor as your 7800.

I had thought much the same. I've paid more indie artists from .d81's of games for my #mega65 and #c64u than commercial game purchases.

So inquring question: What's that device attached to your 64's joystick ports near the power input on the right?

  32. @halfpress very interested to hear your thoughts on the armsid's performance. I'm tempted to get a daughter board for my #rc2014 that accepts it, as well as potentially for fiddling with my #c64u

  37. It took 6 months, but my #C64U finally arrived and it's lovely!

Feels authentic, works great, and is even impressing an old #ZXSpectrum veteran like me.

I've got it using a Kernel ROM called "DolffyDOS", which is a mix of DolphinDOS and JiffyDOS. This really speeds up loading.

Love the little touches, like being able to FTP to it... though the cassette USB stick is both wonderful and terrible at the same time, and who thought to put the SD card slot inside the case!?
