I had over 3 hours of fun with my #commodore #c64u downloading and playing old games.

Then I started my #steamdeck to play some AC: Shadows from fucking annoying #ubisoft with their Ubisoft Connect torture.

I couldn't log in because the row to enter the password was not long enough, 1 character short. Can you believe it? Now I changed my password again, but I don't have the time now to try it out, and I am pretty pissed.

Look, Ubisoft. You want money from customers like me? Stop pissing us off and work for and with us. This login disaster is worth nothing. I get it. You want as much data from the player as possible. But you literally kill gaming with it!

Do I want to play the upcoming AC: Black Flag Resynced? Yeah, but not on a PC or a similar device. I am waiting until it is available for cheap, and then I will buy it for the console. Probably PS5. You wanna make money? Well, you do not get mine!

I am probably paying for the new JAMES BOND game. So you get NOTHING! ...

IDK if the #VIC20 was different, but I love how the #Commodore64 had an NMI key (Non-Maskable Interrupt), the RESTORE key. That means that when you press RESTORE, an interrupt is triggered which can't be ignored in hardware by the computer. (Of course, it can be ignored in software with, I guess, an RTI instruction? #6502 )

I've used it to mess with programs that are timing-heavy (like demos) or don't seem to have the interrupt vector set up :) #C64U

#Commodore has released firmware 1.1.0 for the #C64ultimate and it seems to contain the fixes from Gideon's #Ultimate64 3.14d firmware (including more robust #JiffyDOS support) while retaining the more refined system menus from the Commodore branded computers.

Experimenting with #JiffyDOS on my #Ultimate64 - it seems to be pretty hit-or-miss. The webpage had a note recommending what seems to be CIA timing settings:

I don’t see any way of finding nor tuning these settings, though. Have I misunderstood something?

Amando #fpga un #c64u o meglio un #c64ultimate non poteva mancare. Sopratutto non poteva mancare una micro sd ed una pen drive, aggiunta all’interno aumentando spazio d’archiviazione che mai verrà sfruttato. La voglia di sperimentare ed esplorare é tanta.
Come molto corposo é il manuale ed il menu della #ultimate .
Comunque scaricare giochi da #bbs.retrocampus.com:6510 é uno spettacolo.
