What if Oatchi's leaf tail was a result of the same parasitic Pikmin type that gives rise to Bulbmin. Which means that Bulbmin might still exist in some capacity.

Blurring the lines between flora and fauna. This was a last second idea but now I've got a few more backlogged.
On a side note, got bored and watched the HIDIVE channel and really got into Girls' Last Tour. Might have to read the manga next.
