  2. #Finland has a wonderful tradition of #berryWine that is all but forgotten by the mainstream. Indeed the state monopoly, #Alko, has an extensive selection of regular #wine, but almost no #Finnish berry wines.

I actually preferred this red, by #Pihamaa, to most red wines (but that’s because the heavy tannins give me a headache), and it worked well with our #Easter meal. You can also get heavier berry wines.

On the left you can see a #sparklingWine, also by Pihamaa, made from #buckthorn.

  7. Any forest experts on here? I'm trying to turn my backyard forest into a healthy oak-hickory food forest and while I know what I need to get rid of (buckthorn, honeysuckle, creeping bellflower) I don't really know what the understory is *supposed* to look like.

Where should the shrubs/small trees be in relation to the big ones? What should go at the edges vs in the middle? Most of the info I've found by googling is geared toward managing a forest for logging which is obvs not helpful.

    Thanks in advance!
