Even if people were being forced to pay for every dime of a rescue operation when they were ordered to leave, I have a tough time accepting that the risk to other's lives is acceptable.
I completely understand that it's difficult to leave, but things don't work very well when people think they know better and are above everyone else. It's one of those people who likely damaged their water system because they felt they were entitled to break in and turn the system back on.

Every #BCWildfire season seems to bring out a bunch of folks who place their own needs above those of the greater community; folks who believe public resources can be appropriated to serve their own selfish interests.
In #BostonBar some numpty damaged the community water system by immproperly turning on a valve to reactivate the public water system after authorities had shut it off reserve the dwindling supply for firefighting efforts.
In the #Shuswap last year people were stealing firefighting equipment put in place to protect vital infrastructure (wooden bridges) presumably to repurpose it to protect their own properties.
I can’t help but believe that these are the same people that railed against the public health measures put in place during the early COVID pandemic… 🤨
Meanwhile the news this morning was featuring some stay-behinds in 70 Mile as brave folks staying behind to ‘protect their community’. Stop it! If you’re told to evacuate, evacuate.
Staying behind just hinders firefighting efforts and adds extra workloads on folks that are already overwhelmed trying to protect your community.
You’re not heroes, you’re selfish assholes.

Took the car out for its first couple DC Fast Charger runs this afternoon, to the top of the #Coquihalla, then back around to #BostonBar and #HellsGate.
The Britton Falls DCFC is free, but one of the two chargers is broken. The Boston Bar one cost about $7 for how much I put in.
