This is also the Google Plus alternative many bloggers have been begging for because they don't know that the #Fediverse is bigger than #Mastodon but still, fantastic all the way around and I can interact with my Mastodon account! I'm so excited by the possibilities of Bonfire. In many ways it seems like a natural extension of one of the key strengths of the Fediverse itself - that different communities can be set up to match the needs and values of those communities, rather than a monolith deciding how everyone should interact.
Now Bonfire extends that beyond just the community rules or basic settings like post length, and into major functionality of instances such as groups, events, videos, you name it. The possibility to expand even further into mutual aid, group decision making, misinformation protection and more is amazing!
Looking forward to playing with Bonfire more and contributing where possible. ❤️

Hey Followerpower! If you were to start some blog in 2026, would you rather go for #ghost, #writefreely, #bonfire or #plume, or good old #wordpress? Just for some occasional thoughts, maybe some series on stuff, no mailing, seo, stuff required. They all have some connection to the #fediverse right now.

One script tag turns any web page into a federated conversation. Readers reply with an account they already have, on Bonfire, Mastodon, anywhere. We’re designing that in the open with the W3C groups task force, because we’d rather it work across the whole fediverse than ship a dialect only Bonfire speaks.

Dear @Bonfire - can you please fully disclose your usage of AI in everything from illustrations, blog posts, documentation, website and code?
This isn't to say that things look bad, but I'm getting an ever-increasing suspicion that you're using AI in ways that should be disclosed. Maybe you use it for Object A, and then it makes me wrongly guess you're using it for Object B. But guessing AI usage isn't nice.
