  1. @ChrisMayLA6 This reminds me of history.

History is widely taught in English schools. But a pupil can go through the whole school history curriculum and emerge with an undestanding of English history that is little more than propaganda.

The history curriculum leaves pupils thinking that the British Empire was on balance a benign process of globalisation whose highlight was heroically ending the slave trade, and that the UK is a democracy.

In Ireland, we have a technical term for it: #bollix.

  2. Every political assertion or slogan should be given an #inversionTest. If the inverse is meaningless, so is the proposition. If the inverse would be supported by nobody, then the proposition is vapid.

    Try it on #Starmer's tweet:

"Strength through fairness." Who prefers unfairness, or weakness?

"Hope for the future." Who's against hope?

"Real answers to the challenges facing our country.". Who prefers despair? Or fake answers?

Ireland has a technical term for this comms: #Bollix.

  3. Dr #EoinDrea is a senior researcher at the #WilfriedMartensCentre, the official think tank of the #EuropeanPeopleParty (#EPP) of which #FineGael #FG is a member.

FG will probably try to disown Eoin Drea. They will says this is just a personal opinion by an academic researcher etc, that it's obviously not in any way FG's position.

That is of course #bollix. EPP staff don't go placing op-eds on highly sensitive #foreignpolicy issues without some liaison with the local EPP member party.
