  2. @richardknott this was expected. Several industry analyses had predicted a decline in PHEV as BEV adoption extends penetration. I think the #BNEF people did a chart, or maybe it was the #emberenergyreport.

Headline is somewhat confusing because the decline is PHEV only. The Chinese term “NEV” includes both PHEV and BEV. The dip will be structural now, not cyclical so unlikely to be rare, but rather the first in a series of increasingly steep declines.

  3. “Australia’s window to stay on a well-below-2C pathway is closing, fast,” Leonard Quong, head of #BNEF in #Australia said on a new report.
“Rapidly moving to a clean power system based on wind, solar and storage will be essential to cost-effectively reduce carbon emissions in line with our existing decarbonization targets.” #renewables #EnergyTransition

  4. This report supports those who campaign for more clean #energy lending:

"The ratio of #CleanEnergy lending and equity underwriting relative to #FossilFuels needs to hit 4 to 1 by the end of the decade if the planet is to avoid the worst ravages of#ClimateChange as laid out in the #ParisAgreement of 2015.

That ratio was roughly 0.8 to 1 at the end of 2021, according to the #BNEF report."
