I had to bail on a camping trip early this weekend.

I drove up to the Blue Ridge Parkway on Friday afternoon. Caught a cloudy (but still beautiful) sunset at Black Balsam Knob. Camped in one of the watersheds below. On Saturday morning, I spent 2+ hours fly fishing up in the headwaters of the West Fork of the Pigeon River. I wasn't in a hurry to get good photos because I thought that I would have more opportunities later in the day...

After lunch, I set out for the East Fork of the Pigeon River, which is the next cove over. While driving, my driver-side window spontaneously dropped down into the door and wouldn't roll back up!

I wasn't comfortable parking my car full of gear at a crowded trailhead. I also wasn't properly prepared to keep the coming rain out of my car. Packed up and drove home.
