In a weird space mentally,
I got to ply my tech trade the other day, helping a client with something they had struggled with for far too long.
I also felt really good about actually doing some long overdue maintenance at the day job. Just a leaky irrigation pipe that's been that way for... Over a year? I dunno, I just started there in September.
Today I got to blend the two, using my computer /network knowledge at the blue collar job. I'm actually really interested in learning more about the irrigation systems. Thematically that fits with how I like to learn and build systems. And there's a not small amount of tech involved.
Also Humble Bundle has bunch of Automation and robotics books in a set, including PCL and HMI stuff which I was contemplating going to school for as a pivot away from my classic software dev work which has been eaten by GenAI. This bundle will at least give me an into to the stuff and guess if it's worth going for classes.
