@morgfair Is this the only thing that Metro has accomplished in preparation for the 2028 Olympics... digital billboards to bring in new revenue? We fought these in Westwood & the company had to take a dozen of these down because they didn't get city permission and they are a horrible blight for the neighborhood. #lightpollution #blight

Today, I lifted more of the taties I've left in the ground, foliage removed, after they caught blight.
Not sure if I would follow the advice of leading TV gardeners on this again. The ones I lifted before were mainly ok. A few rotted in storage.
The ones today were partly just disgusting mush.
With foliage removed, I didn't know exactly where to place my fork. So quite a few of the enormous spuds were speared with the fork in the process.

Here in northern Germany, it's a bit of a gamble with tomatoes outside.
Last year was excellent - this year I ripped out 42 plants full of toms last week. All but 3(sic!) #tomatoes were affected by #blight. I had hoped for some sun and left them on for too long.
5-6 weeks of daily rain were just too much.

At the thought of an introduced creature
That eats every last leaf
Of an oak or maple or apple or birch.

So we were struck by this blight
Which defoliated our trees
Made our yard look like a set
from some apocalypse movie.

Worse was the wedding planned,
my daughter and her wife,
but miracles do happen:
The leaves grew back.

The whispers began as I walked into the room. The sideways glances and whispers made me feel terribly uncomfortable. It was one mistake, one stupid mistake that was now threatening what I'd worked for. I wasn't welcome here, but I had to stand my ground.
I take my seat at the table as the presentation begins.

Jane was there. What was she even doing here? I watched her as she averted my gaze. Her eyes briefly met mine and she paused. I loved her once. Well, at least I thought I did. She still had an aura about her, her dark sultry eyes and hair that draped down past her shoulders were very appealing. As the presentation continues, my mind starts to race.

I should've ignored the message. I shouldn't have even started a conversation. But I longed for an emotional connection that at the time I was not getting. While time with Jane was electric, at times she was cold and distant. She just shut me out, unable to break through her past. I told her I wasn't like the others. That I'd be there for her, but I betrayed her.

Sarah gave me something. Something that I thought I needed. I opened my heart to her when I should've been happy with Jane. I was now a pariah. Colleagues at work following the drama through Jane's social media, stoking the flames of dissent. I can't change what I've done. I know it will be forever a blight on my character.

I'm sure time will heal the wounds. But I must take responsibility for the path I've chosen.
