I have recently been told that #Friendica has much more robust mod options and controls. As a committed Friendica user since 2018 I have heard many #POC complain about the hate they receive on the fediverse. I haven't seen hardly any hate other than the occasional troll that pops up once and month and my admin can block them or their instance depending. I have to believe the POC when they tell me how hateful it is on the #fediverse. I know only 3 POC here on Friendica, none are #black (all of them I follow are on #mastodon ) so I don't know if this claim about better modding is true. However if you are a POC and dealing with hate on the #fediverse, you might want to try Friendica and see how that goes, especially if you are able to run your own instance. I would love to see if you have a better experience here. Also you can still interact with everyone on the #activitypub side of things as well as the other of the big 4 OG fediverse platform #diaspora (Friendica predates it by a few months both launched in 2010), and you can run your #bluesky account through it(used to do this for twitter until #Musk broke the API).
