@ascentale @geonz @bikenite A1b. We used to have a guy in town (Tucson, AZ) who put a small bike up in a tree in his front yard. It served both as decoration and as advertisement for his bike repair and second-hand bike shop, which he ran, probably completely illegally, out of his garage. Best place around to get a second-hand kids' bike the next size up as a kid grew. #bikenight

When I have had to bike for errands during bad wildfire smoke, both in California and in Minnesota, I have strictly worn a well-fitted N95 mask - just like all the other times I have gone outside.

And I have moved all my biking for exercise indoors to the standing bike.

@ascentale @MartyCormack @bikenite A5. Cargo quadricycle had just been fixed at the LBS. I'd ridden away and was on UC Davis campus when I noticed I somehow had a flat. My disabled hands cannot handle fixing a flat even if I know how. I was so dismayed because being on campus, I should have been near lots of people that could help, but the pandemic response super-charged UC Davis' ableism and I was isolated from my cohort. I couldn't reach my PI. So I called AAA and then they FREAKED about the fact I had a quadricycle instead of an upright bicycle and refused to send a van or truck to help. So I had to push, with my damaged hands/arms, and walk the cargo quad, with my damaged knees/feet more than a mile home. And pay extra for a mobile mech to come fix it. Once more. #CripTax #UCAccessNow #BikeNight

The challenge is finding infrastructure that isn't ableist and/or car-centric. When places refuse to hold drivers accountable, we get infrastructure that is meant to keep drivers out, but also keeps disabled cyclists out. So we have to educate about these issues, and advocate for holding drivers accountable first & then when relying on barriers, make the barriers as accessible to all cyclists as possible.

But I'm very very happy to be riding again! #BikeNight #Recumbent #Albania

@ascentale @marywordymary @bikenite I do not have any experience with them. I would consider getting one that might, for example, alert my phone that it had been tampered with, if I could find one like that. At least I would know something was happening.

I stumbled upon Moon only recently and their lights look decent (except the cheapest), so thanks for that confirmation of my gut feeling. 😊

The current Bromptons have Lezyne headlights and I'm not happy with them (e-bike version): Not so bright, only a very narrow beam and a not so far reaching flood light, 1.5m maybe. You barely see its light with the Magicshine Hori on.
