@nightdream I've got 4 #bidets on the toilets in my house that I installed all by myself.
The hardest part was getting an electrician to install a GFI plug next to each.
If you've ever done any basic plumbing before, bidet to the existing line is easy.
Just make sure not to cross-thread any connections, apply joint tape to all of the metal pipe threads & don't overtighten any plastic parts.
Then plug it in, sit on it, check for proper operation & any leaks.

What bidet should I buy? I think I don't want any particularly special features like hot water or heated seat, but want something durable that'll last a long time. Any suggestions? Or is there a fancy feature I actually should get?

A question for those of you familiar with countries that use stand alone bidets. In Buenos Aires, as far as I can determine from my limited experience, bidets almost seem to be required by law to be powerful enough to strip the paint off of walls. The jet of water could literally touch the roof if you didn't stick your posterior in the way!
Are all stand alone bidets like that?

When you are installing a #bidet, didn't tighten a nut down tight enough, and it sprays you with water (clean). But the few drops that escaped manage to drip into the basement, and trigger the flood sensor and everything starts flipping out.
This was my night last night. 😂 It's funny now, but I thought I'd royally effed up and flooded our basement.
Good news though - We now have 2 installed #bidets in the house!
