I really love the silhouette peak design by Dan Coe¹, which is itself inspired by Chaney Swiney’s Peakscapes posters. So I decided to try my hand at making a poster/map in a similar style and depicting the five peaks ⛰️ of the Central #Bicol region in the #Philippines 🇵🇭. I’ll see if I can further refine and polish this style because it looks really pretty.

The three most active volcanoes in the #Philippines are currently restless.
1. #Mayon volcano, located in the province of #Albay, in the #Bicol region.
It is the most active in the Philippines, and the world's most perfectly shaped volcano.
It is currently at Alert Level 3.
Evacuation of residents around the designated permanent danger zone started early in the morning of June 9th UTC+0800.
2. #Taal volcano, located in the province of #Batangas. The world's only volcano within a lake, within an island, within a lake, within an island. Second most active in the Philippines.
It is currently at Alert Level 2.
3. #Kanlaon volcano, located in the provinces of #Negros Occidental and Oriental; or Negros island.
It is the country's third most active volcano, and is showing signs of imminent phreatic eruption. It has been at Alert Level 1 since 2020.
Expect volcanic related #earthquakes. A mild-strong volcanic related #earthquake from Taal can be felt all the way to Metro Manila, the country's National Capital Region. The distance between Taal volcano and Manila is 80 km in a straight line.

JUST IN: CAAP confirms another Cessna plane went missing.
A Cessna 340 with tail number RP-C2080 lost contact after it took off from Bicol International Airport 6:43 a.m today, Feb 18.
The six-seater aircraft was supposed to land in Manila at 7:53 a.m. carrying 4 individuals.
CAAP says they have dispatched Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board to assist the search for the missing Cessna plane which is now in a ‘Distress Phase.’
