People who bought and use #Bibisco , you'll probably get an email from the company asking for feedback. They are asking if their user base are wanting LLM nonsense in the software. Please, answer no. There are better, human driven ways to improve spellchecking and grammar. I wouldn't want yet another great piece of software to be infected with the LLM hype.

OMG Yeah, this basically highlights my current experience with, yeah...I was experiencing the effects of an ever increasing scale of complexity in my stories.
I think going back to writing down more details and updating those details will help me. Also, not worrying about perfection. The details can be properly sorted in edits once the course is plotted.
Especially...*looks at the behemoth story* may help there. It will take longer, but having a North Star to follow will help offload some cognitive burden. I need to admit to myself that story storage is kinda slipping (especially when I get those random beginnings of a new idea, I chase that shiny fucking new toy).
I need to watch more of the Bibisco videos as Andrea provides a lot of good insights that I have yet to internalize. ROFL
Yes, it is also true that you don't necessarily need Novel Writing software, it's just one of many tools at a creative's disposal!

Woot, Bibisco released the 5.0 version, I got it for free as they were offering it. Weirdly, they didn't gift it on Lemon Squeezy, but that is okay! The next upgrade I will probably pay for as this was a nice, unexpected gift.
Before being able to write in the coffee shop on Tuesday, I'll have to remember to upgrade my Laptop's version. 😸

My favorite #writing software #bibisco released a new version! Already got it and installed. lol #writingcommunity #indieauthor

So, I am thriving with Bibisco in a way that I wouldn't have if sticking with LibreOffice was the move I made. I can do so much with this handy software.
I'm working some chapter writing in-between integrating notes and other associated material into one project. It's amazing.
I can create comments at the drop of a hat at any time (the UI indication is easy to see, and work with enabled).
Bibisco just werks and enables me to werk! I've not stopped like I would normally. I guess the promise of getting coffee easily keeps me werking!

#DailyDigest for 2025-04-28
It's been a productive day!
- Made progress on the #writing front. I've mapped out several upcoming scenes for my novel that still sits somewhere between #scifi and #speculativeFiction. Still on track to finish by the end of next month. (+1437 words)
- Brainstormed some interesting #storytelling and #interactiveFiction ideas with my business partner.
- Still can't shake the uncertainty about how my project and/or client landscape will look this year. The not-knowing part is definitely outside my comfort zone.
EDIT:
-
I've been playing around with #bibisco for project Deadly Pearls. My interest was piqued because it looks almost like an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for authors, with everything you (might) need to write a story.
I'll keep this post updated while I'm still figuring things out while writing my #cozyMystery
My likes
- Word count and tag tracking works well, and it gives me nice statistics for what it tracks.
- Built-in mind maps and timelines.
- The guided approach to writing
- Clean sections for story preparation and general plot ideas.
- Purposeful chapter creation aka "What is the reason this chapter exists in your story?
My dislikes
- The editor. Seriously. It's not fun to write in. For me, it's the lack of options to customise it. The fonts available are not the ones I would choose and (similar to #Plottr) I can't use the fonts I have installed on my system.
- UX...
- The overall UX is good, but there are SO many things where you have to click a "more" button in the bottom right corner of the screen to change the name of a scene (which is in the top left corner).
- (Update) *You can double click on the name and then edit the title. I would still prefer to have some sort of (visual) indication that this is possible.

Things I would like to see
- QoL additions to the word count tracking, like updated daily word count goals based on my actual pace. It's only updated manually when I go back to the writing goal settings and hit 'calculate' again to get an updated daily word count goal.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds Damn, #bibisco is good! :D

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds @newton Thanks for sharing. I am on my "journey" to find best tool for writing. I was using #Manuskript but it looks it is dead now. #novelWriter sounds like awesome alternative. If not going with #Bibisco.

Having explored Bibisco a bit, I realized something fun: In chapters, you can create bite-sized scenes and stitch them all together so that writing a whole ass chapter doesn't feel daunting! Focusing on incremental writing and stitching it together in chronological order feels pretty damn good!
They even have a handy series of blogs that are devoted to breaking down the creative process in a processable way. I'm going to delve deeper into their website, while learning more about Bibisco, hopefully this will lead to a great writing outcome!
I'll include a link to their blog posts: https://bibisco.com/blog/

#WritingWonders 11.7. - What about your writing would you like to improve?
- How to write emotional expressions to make characters more relatable. I hardly know how to do that in real life. 😅
- That "show, don't tell" thing, because I tend to tell too much, I think.
- The way I organise my writing and notes and everything. I started looking at #Bibisco a few days ago and I'm hoping it's just the right tool to keep me from plunging into chaos. See https://social.tchncs.de/@marcr/110679916478109489

Woo hoo! A new version of #Bibisco has just been released! (Version 3)
Bibisco is an amazing #OpenSource #novel #writing software (specializing in the snowflake method) and really excels at helping the author hone their #CharacterDevelopment and #WorldBuilding for their stories.
Seriously, if you write #fiction (no matter the genre) you need to check this out!
