We start by discussing resources that are crucial at the beginning of the process and how we differentiate what artifacts we are looking for and how we can communicate our progress to stakeholders. Moving forward, we talk about the resources that we will need to be successful in our hunt, which includes discussions on the technologies and visibility that are useful. Then we dive into an intel report (my second favorite part) and discuss what artifacts we can use to create the best hypotheses that we can and have the most effect. Finally, and probably what you all have been waiting for, we dive into a set of data and hunt for malicious activity!

Next week ends early registration for Black Hat trainings, but that means you still have time to register for Cyborg Security's 2-day threat hunter training, "A Beginner's Guide To Threat Hunting: How TO Shift Focus from IOCs to Behaviors and TTPs". Which is just a long way of saying "We will teach you what resources we use to start our hunts, how to extract usable artifacts from intel reports, and how to navigate through a SIEM to find the suspicious or malicious activity!"
