Just finished watching #MartySupreme (2025) at my local #AMC.
It's about a fast talking, lying & scheming, double-dealing grifter & poser who happens to play a pretty good game of ping pong but who does everything else possible to sabotage himself & those around him.
There's a feel good ending which in context of Marty's shambles of a life only raises the prospect of more catastrophes to come for Marty & those close to him in the future.
#TimotheeChalamet (who plays Marty) & the movie are getting a lot of Oscar buzz & Chalamet just won the #CriticsChoiceAward for #BestActor for his performance, which I thought was frenetic & peripatetic, but the main reason I didn't like the movie is because it didn't entertain me. 🤔
It just puzzled & annoyed me because I couldn't make sense of it.
So, I'm giving it a 5 out of 10, which I'll stand by even if Chalamet & the film win a bucket full of awards, which seems likely to happen given the raves its getting. 🤷♂️

I just streamed & watched the #movies #Queer (2024) & #Anora (2024).
Anora is a #BestPicture #GoldenGlobe & #Oscar nominated movie. Queer was not given that honor but should have been so nominated too.
Queer is a "queer" movie & Anora is #AnOfficerAndAGentleman" meets a #Russian #clusterfuck but I liked them & would give them both a 7 out of 10. 😎
#DanielCraig gives a great performance as an aging queer man living in Mexico who's main occupation in life (apart from being a sometime writer) is chasing anything younger in pants. He was nominated for a #BestActor Golden Globe award but not for an Oscar this year.☹️
#MickeyMadison, the heretofore unknown actress playing Anora in Anora gives a great Golden Globe & Oscar nominated performance in the film.
Both movies are well worth watching IMO. If you haven't seen them yet, find & watch them when/where you can.
