  3. Victorian Premier Ben Carroll to announce $2b in cuts to Suburban Rail Loop
    abc.net.au/news/2026-08-25/sub

Ben Carroll sure has a curious strategy in the run-up to this year's State Election: it appears he wants to make the Coalition redundant by himself acting as the Opposition party.

Today's brainfart from Ben Carroll is to hamstring the Suburban Rail Loop by slashing the scope and budget for essential infrastructure. His plan will drastically reduce the effectiveness of the SRL, and lock-in extra travel time for passengers.

This comes only days after Ben Carroll returned to his anti-worker Shoppie roots by saying he wants to axe plans to protect workers' rights to Work From Home. Remote work is contrary to Conservative dogma and return-to-office edicts of big business and rent-seeking property developers, so Ben Carroll was quick to oblige.

Good job, Benny, on your RWNJ election promises!

  13. This morning, Jacinta Allan stepped aside as Premier of Victoria, and Ben Carroll was sworn-in promptly.

Ben Carroll becoming Premier is a regressive step for Victoria. He's a Shoppie who used to work with Stephen Conroy.

I'm tipping Victorians can expect Ben Carroll to offer:
    - Talk about caring for the working-class, while actually suppressing wages and rights of workers, especially young and low income people.
    - Centrist concessions to RWNJs.
    - Erosion of the rights and protections for minorities such as LGBTQIA+ people.
    - Pandering to conservative religious dogma on issues such as women's health, contraception, and abortion.
    - Ignorant meddling with Tech, such as censorship, NBN/broadband, and whatever is happening with AI.
    - Bizarre legislative carve-outs and gifts to big business.
    - Further entrenchment of the gambling industry.

  14. Deputy Premier Ben Carroll tells Jacinta Allan he would put hand up to become Victoria's next Labor leader
    abc.net.au/news/2026-07-27/vic

Last week, the media said there'll be a Victorian ALP spill.
    Initially, Ben Carroll said no.
Then he said only if there's a vacancy.
    Today, he said Spill.
He should know better than to take advice from the media. It's the end of his career, and bad for Labor in the lead-up to an election.

There's been so much bad political reporting. They pushed conspiracy theories that Victoria's "Big Build" infrastructure projects are so Jacinta Allan's government can give millions to the perennial threat, "Bikie Gangs".

Nationally, the media's normalising neo-nazis. They hyped One Nation becoming the Opposition and Pauline Hanson becoming PM. But polls show the media's pump-up for One Nation fizzling.

I wish the media would stick to reporting on facts, and stop thinking they can steer the direction of politics.
