  1. #xmpp

    points faibles:
    - l'interface n'est pas traduite (anglais)
    - pas possible de l'installer sans passer par l'AppleStore
    - leur site web et les captures d'écran ne font pas honneur au produit.

    @tigase
    @Monal

  2. @lproven Sadly it's not only the companies not supporting #XMPP anymore, but also the client ecosystem becoming more and more degraded.

For example, on Mac there used to be a bunch of well maintained OSS clients, like #AdiumX. These are more or less gone, with a few exceptions like #BeagleIM and #MonalIM. Might be a different situation on Linux though...

This is sad. For me XMPP on its high was the pinnacle of IM.

  13. @[email protected] @frankie Setting up for calls (with STUN/TURN server) is rather easy: tigase.org/blog/tigase-server- especially if you use docker/docker-compose) and then you can use any client and there is a bunch, starting with our , and others like , and probably others...

Alternatively you can host your domain on our .im/#sure.im servers cutting out difficulty of self-hosting :-)

  14. @nanoelquant @frankie Setting up #Tigase for calls (with STUN/TURN server) is rather easy: tigase.org/blog/tigase-server- especially if you use docker/docker-compose) and then you can use any client and there is a bunch, starting with our #BeagleIM, #SiskinIM and others like #Conversations, #Dino and probably others...

  18. Our macOS prioritizes , highlighting advanced functions like end-to-end encryption (OMEMO) within the shown chat window. These attributes actively user data and uphold conversation privacy.

  19. As projects(github.com/tigase), both and thrive with the support of a vibrant community of contributors and developers. This ensures that these apps receive regular , bug fixes, and improvements, keeping them and for users.

You can download the apps for iOS from apps.apple.com/us/app/siskin-i and for macOS from apps.apple.com/it/app/beagle-i.

  20. @Ilias there is client for beagle.im/ and I'd argue it's more than good :-)

  21. With our apps, you can easily search through your chat history by clicking on the "Search History" option in the top menu. This allows you to swiftly navigate through your logs and locate specific or discussions that you wish to review.

By enabling OMEMO end-to-end encryption, you can ensure that your conversations remain completely private and secure. OMEMO encryption employs state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithms to protect your messages from being intercepted or accessed by unauthorized parties.

  23. @m2m ! :D (beagle.im/) - encryption with OMEMO, audio/video calls.

Btw. you can also host your (XMPP) domain on tigase.im servers for free (and keep your email on mailbox.org)

  24. @JoergSorge ! (beagle.im/) - OMEMO encryption, audio/video calls and native UI :-)

  25. @noleli maybe give (beagle.im/) a go? It's more up to date with current XMPP than adium

  26. New beta of client with couple of fixes for macOS Ventura (odd scrolling and copying messages). You can get it from (github.com/tigase/beagle-im/re) or using

  28. Installed and the chat message order is out of whack when using multiple devices to talk to a contact.

  29. Great news for all #XMPP users on Apple #macOS and #iOS: @tigase has released new versions of #BeagleIM and #SiskinIM:

    Beagle:
    github.com/tigase/beagle-im/re

    Siskin:
    github.com/tigase/siskin-im/re

    Available in AppStore, new features:
    - working Voice/Video calls with Conversations
    - support for MIX chat rooms
    - message rectraction
    - message correction
    - quick reply
    - improved PUSH notifications
    - improved message sync with MAM:2

  30. @tuxicoman Since #SiskinIM and #BeagleIM share the same codebase (IIRC), I suspect they have the same A/V properties. And since #Conversations is compatible with Siskin, I think Beagle should/could be too. No idea about AstraChat.

You can compile #Dino (@dino) for OSX. They don't support A/V, but it's a planned feature.

  31. @tigase a friend wants to let you know that since the latest release #BeagleIM on Mac is a complete joy to use, he completely replaced #imessage with it now
    #xmpp #omemo

  32. @tigase testing #BeagleIM now, I tried to get Siskin to work last week and it failed to get any messages

  33. @tigase since #BeagleIM is developed by @tigase , do you have any plans to support #OMEMO on BeagleIm?
