I've seen a lot of posts and videos trying to show what bass guitar does to a composition and how essential, fundamental, and instrumental it is, but they tend to fail to demo for the audience in a crystal clear way.
The "My Own Summer" from Deftones imho is the best and most clear example I've heard so far, especially at 01:59-02:23

Weil wir alle viel zu selten ...but alive hören, werde ich im April jeden Tag ein Lied posten und ihr müsst das dann hören. Ich mach das auch.Es ist schon wieder viel zu spät und eigentlich hatte ich n anderes Lied gesucht, aber hier kommt zumindest mal schön der Bass durch ;)

Weil ich grad mal wieder richtig Bock hab:
Bassist sucht Band! :BASS: Gerne (deutsch)Punk, HC o.ä. (kein Metall) oder auch guten Indiekram (Okkervil River, MountainGoats)... Bin auch Texter und hab grundsätzlich Bock (etwas) zu singen... Gründe auch was neues mit. Norddeutschland (idealerweise nördlich vom Kanal, bis Hamburg ginge sicher auch)

That's a bummer. I got a Vox Bass AmPlug3 for xmas and it doesn't work, and stores are not open to return it 🤔
