A question for #basstodon - is anybody using #mainstage to run their rig? I’ve got a semi-complex setup for an upcoming show (electric bass, keyboard bass, pedal bass (Keith McMillen 12-step, the latter running soft synths) and am wondering if anyone’s got any experience/tips. #bass #electricbass #bassists

My bass strings are almost $400 a set. The fact that I only have to change them every 8–10 years means I spend less money on strings than all the other musicians I play with. The sticker shock is still incredibly jarring, though.

I’m off to the city to see a man about a #bass today. I’ll actually be auditioning a few Kays. I’ve been squeaking by for decades without a backup, and it finally caught up to me. My King is out of commission and on a long waiting list to get into the shop.

I need something for heavy gigging #Rockabilly #HonkyTonk #Bluegrass #WesternSwing and #Folk. I love the clack of a rosewood fingerboard, and I’m looking forward to having that option. Ebony fingerboards click (which I also love). #Basstodon
