"DETROIT (AP) — A crash and large fire along a California freeway involving an electric Tesla Semi has drawn the attention of federal safety investigators.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board said Thursday it’s sending a team of investigators from the Office of Highway Safety mainly to look into fire risks posed by lithium-ion batteries. "

New satellite images of the Mojave/Baker Incident from yesterday became available, did a quick look for any vehicles/clusters of vehicles out in the middle of nowhere... nothing obvious, which is great. I guess most of the misery was contained to the freeway, at least. (clear now). #BakerIncident #Mojave

May be a few days, but my plan is to check the satellite imaging, curious if anyone's car ends up appearing out in the middle of nowhere around the I-15 or I-40. I sure hope not, of course! But satellite imaging is the ideal way to figure that out. #RemoteImaging #BakerIncident

I missed this. No update since Friday, but apparently they closed ALL roads into the Mojave National Preserve on Friday -- unclear what the status is this morning.
