Hmm... GOES satellite may have caught a massive "puff" of smoke right then. Hard to tell. #goes #boom #RemoteImaging

CIRA: Power loss can be seen across the island of Rota following the passage of Super Typhoon Bavi earlier this week.
Portions of Guam also lost power from the storm.

Here's a location near 10.2636,-68.0032
The red circle on the third picture shows an area you can see is reflective (i.e. large building) on 5-31-2026. On the 6-25-206 image, no reflection. So, I am guessing (hard to tell with this resolution, of course) those buildings have collapsed.

Looks like comparing 5/31/26 to 6/25/26 is the best similar images on Copernicus/Sentinel-1 view of Caracas for gauging earthquake damage. (ie same satellite angle) #earthquakes #remoteimaging #venezuela #disaster #caracas

Hmm, wonder what is on fire over here today... #RemoteImaging

Interesting, this must be right before the IRGC boarded that ship! #Epaminondas

AFP/Reuters:
"...Satellite imaging company Planet Labs has said it will indefinitely withhold visuals of Iran and the region of conflict in the Middle East to comply with a request from United States President Donald Trump’s administration.
The US company announced the decision in an email to customers on Saturday, with news agencies quoting it as saying the government had asked satellite imagery providers to impose an “indefinite withhold of imagery”...."

That can't be good... Looks like an oil slick a week or so ago near Kuwait. Must have been a tanker hit by the Iranians. (Sentinel-1 image, March 14, 2026)

CO2 emissions on a grand scale.
Tehran Oil Refinery the large patch of red (fire detected), the black is the smoke blowing from the oil refinery fire.

Interesting... wonder how much of this was US pressure. 🤷 (not surprised at all at this)
Satellite firm places 96-hour embargo on Middle East war imagery

Hmm, that doesn't look normal. Burning oil rig it appears off the coast of Bahrain from Feb 27th? #random #RemoteImaging #IranWar

Hmm, curious what Planet is doing with these fake placenames. I was flipping through some recent imagery along the mysterious-El Paso air shutdown area to show students and "Mastodon" popped up, lol. Next to a US Border Patrol station. Watermark of sorts? #gis #remoteimaging

Look at that tule fog in California's central valley....

Interesting to see so few ships in Long Beach Harbor, in general, recently. I should look up any ship volume stats. I remember there had been dozens and dozens of ships anchored off coast typically waiting to be offloaded. (could be tariff related). #remoteimaging #economy #LongBeach

Sentinel-1 before/after (in 3D) of that last one... Which I pulled off Copernicus a second ago. Wow! #MountKingGeorge #MtKingGeorge #geology #landslide #earthquake #RemoteImaging

If someone has $3,250 I would vote for Umbra 20cm to 30cm per pixel imaging... heck, since it's a CIA nuclear power plant spend $20K on imaging and get it over multiple days. Might wait until summer though to minimize obstruction by snow/ice.

View from Trail's Crest down slope... completely filled with snow at the moment. Snow was deposited after the hiker went missing. Sentinel-2 satellite 12/11/2025. #SearchAndRescue #SAR #RemoteImaging #MtWhitney

Super high resolution satellite imaging is $750
Or, they could get someone to run a drone up there... not sure if that's flyable though.

Hubbard Glacier in 3D (60.359, -139.546).

Much more of the Hubbard Glacier (zoomed out). So, M7.0 earthquake isn't going to affect a lot of people directly, unless they were camping on top of the glacier. The movement and collapsing of stuff must have been mightly impressive during the earthquake! #HubbardGlacier #glacier #Alaska #RemoteImaging
