    As the grand finale of our film series ‘Nights of Silence’, we are showing an absolute classic of expressionist horror silent film:

    The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari tells the story of a mysterious fairground director who commits gruesome murders with the help of a sleepwalker.

    With its bizarre sets, distorted perspectives and dreamlike images, the film is not only a visual revolution, but is also considered the first ‘mind game movie’.

    The grotesque shadows and fragmented narrative make Caligari a milestone in film history and an experience that unfolds its hypnotic effect on the screen.

    Als krönenden Abschluss unserer Filmreihe „Nächte der Stille“ zeigen wir einen absoluten Klassiker des expressionistischen Horror-Stummfilms:

    Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari erzählt die Geschichte eines geheimnisvollen Jahrmarktsdirektors, der mithilfe eines Schlafwandlers grausame Morde begeht.

    Mit seinen schrägen Kulissen, verzerrten Perspektiven und traumartigen Bildern ist der Film nicht nur eine visuelle Revolution, sondern gilt auch als erster „Mindgame-Movie“.

    Die grotesken Schatten und das gebrochene Erzählen machen Caligari zu einem Meilenstein der Filmgeschichte und zu einem Erlebnis, das auf der Leinwand seine hypnotische Wirkung entfaltet.
