After finishing "Veep," I decided to give a shot to another show from the same writer, Armando Iannucci. This time the setting is sci-fi, on a space cruiser flying to Titan and back. In the first episode, they miss their window and a couple of remaining weeks becomes 3 years. Hilarity ensues. The sci-fi is not merely a decoration but serves some story points (like a coffin becoming a satellite of the much larger cruiser or ring of human excrement).

It's a shame #Avenue5 was cancelled after only two seasons. We need more stupid rich people trying not to die in space.

I'm so sad that I only found out about Avenue 5's existence this month, because it is a fantastic, ridiculous, hilarious show.

I'm sad because it was cancelled 2 yrs ago, sad because HBO didn't market it at all apparently, sad that it came out on the trash streaming network that is HBO Max instead of somewhere that would've kept it going. I guess I can only hold out a faint hope that its cult classic status will grow over time and someone else picks it up, but... 😔

Succumbed to #NowTV again (since they offered me £1 for 3 months) so I can watch the new season of #RighteousGemstones. I fucking love it. Absolute genius.

Also I guess the last season of #Succession and maybe try #WhiteLotus while I have it.

And rewatch #Avenue5 which I also love and I'm gutted was cancelled.

I've been watching some space-themed comedies.

I'm sad that #SpaceForce was cancelled before we learned why Lisa Kudrow's character landed in prison.

#Moonbase8 was amusing while it lasted.

I just found #Avenue5. It has Ethan Phillips, who was Neelix on #StarTrek and Hugh Laurie from House in a role he's great in. There's a lot to it, and it's made me smile and laugh.

Wife and I finally (long after the fact) finished S.2 of "Avenue 5," which has, of course, been canceled by HBO. Delightfully absurd, wickedly barbed, and a fine SF comedy. Also, #HughLaurie .

We'll never know the end of the story, but it was a fun ride. #Avenue5
