A testament to the human spirit, to resilience, to never giving up, to playing to a plan, despite collapsing on the ground multiple times and being unable to move even in his crease in the latter overs - solely reliant on his hand-eye coordination and his million-dollar levers.

We were 91/7. We ended up winning by three wickets with a few overs to spare.
That's why Glenny Maxwell is The Big Show.
His knock reminds me of the great Kapil Dev's 175* against Zimbabwe in 1983. His colleagues too were getting out for nothing before him and he single-handedly saved India's bacon. But, of course, Kapil Dev wasn't collapsing on the ground/unable to run/move because of cramp in the heat and humidity.
I should add that the Maxwell-Cummins partnership (202* off 170 balls) is a case study in teamwork under intense pressure. Patty scored 12* off _68 balls_ in a very calm, cool knock, knowing that he was only there to stay there with Maxy and take the singles to get him on strike.
Patty knew that if he got out, Maxy would be under even more pressure, in _that_ state, jeopardising the chase. He also knew that in the latter half of Maxy's innings, Maxy just could not move, so he had to park his normal cricketing instincts to push for easy singles, staying in and trying to keep Maxy relatively relaxed.
Above all, as captain, Patty trusted his colleague's hand-eye such that, even if they couldn't get normal 1s and 2s, Maxy would get the team home if they got their tactics right per over and he kept getting Maxy on strike. A lesson in leadership here.
What a game. What a sport. What a performance.
Indeed, from Smithy in the TV combox, to, in the radio combox, Geoff Lemon yelling his guts out while Alex Hartley and Vaughany were bursting with laughter with every seemingly impossible shot from the Big Show, the Maxwell-Cummins partnership is what all commentators dream about.
This is why we cricket.
