-
I missed the 11ty Meetup today but to my defense, I did a lightning talk about 11ty/import that grew into a discussion about 11ty at #AurajokiOverflow afterwork.
-
Together with @turkufrontend and #AurajokiOverflow, we organised a meetup with a improvisation lightning talk extravaganza.
It was a lot of fun for both the speakers and the audience.

Our second session today was a wonderful 5-speaker improvised lightning talk extravaganza.
We invited 5 people from our community to craft a lightning talk in 30 minutes from topics crowdsourced from the meetup audience and then perform those 5 minute lightning talks to the audience in a lovely potpourri of tech and fun.

"Since I left you, I have been constantly depressed. My happiness is to be near you." wrote Napoleon in his letter to Josephine some 200 years ago.
And yet, it's so accurate still when working with a backend that is not #Django.
I gave a talk confessing my love for Django this Wednesday at #AurajokiOverflow meetup.
-
I'm doing final preparations for my talk at Aurajoki Overflow tonight. I will be performing a public love letter for #Django and share my favourite parts of the framework.
As usual, I'm doing last minute changes to the structure and flow just hours before the talk.
Procrastination is about making sure I'm the oldest and wisest I've ever been by the time I make changes.
(the talk won't be recorded but my slides and notes are available at https://hamatti.org/love-letter )
-
On the 19th, I'll be sharing my love of #Django in this month's Aurajoli Overflow meetup 😍

Wednesday is the best day of the week as in Turku it's the meetup day. @matsuuu is opening up today's #AurajokiOverflow at Reaktor.
-
I had so much fun today at #AurajokiOverflow talking about the benefits software developers can gain from #blogging about their learnings and projects. And so many lovely follow up discussions too ❤️.
Thanks @matsuuu for hosting and @tero for the photo!
(I published my 128th blog post of this year earlier today, what a year it's been!)

The commonality of my blogging talk and Mikko's Erlang talk today in #AurajokiOverflow is that in both, you finish statements with a period.
-
Mikko discussing the greatness that is Erlang
-
Juhis (@hamatti) talking about blogging and why it’s good for developers
-
Matsu introducing today’s #AurajokiOverflow talks

I wrote a talk for a meetup in April but was sick so had to postpone. I'm finally doing it tomorrow at #AurajokiOverflow and it's about why developers should blog.
I felt the talk was pretty good so obviously I decided to rewrite it a day before the talk.
Lo and behold, it became even better on the rewrite. I managed to improve the flow of the storytelling by moving things around, added a bunch of examples from my own blog and added a few good quotes from great posts I discovered since April.
-
The next #AurajokiOverflow meetup is on Wednesday, October 23 at Vincit.
The topic is Learning and Sharing; the talks are about blogging, and learning Erlang. There is also make-your-own pizza, so that can be a learning (and sharing) experience too! 🍕 🙂
The event is free; sign up at https://www.meetabit.com/events/aurajoki-overflow-learning-and-sharing-sponsored-by-vincit
-
We also have Juho teaching us what it means that everything in Linux is a file.
-
I'm learning how to make ebooks with Quarto from @tero at #AurajokiOverflow.
-

With a dozen or so active developer communities currently in #Turku, the community looks better than it has in a long time.
