In other news, @timoreilly xeeted about one of my old papers. With 2M followers & 8 RX it has 6K impressions, about 1K more than my 25K followers used to give my normal daily posting in about 2018. Twitter went south for me due to their recommenders even before Musk Xed it up. In fact, initially I was getting more impressions post Musk, I guess he ended the 2019 era #ATEAC shadowbanning I'd received.

The Heritage Foundation’s most liberal leader (admittedly not very), who was working on Russian interference in the 2016 election with Dianne Feinstein’s office, was Kay Cole James. After she got cancelled with the rest of Google #ATEAC, Heritage swung right again. Cc @meredithmeredith.bsky.social

That’s the funniest & saddest thing I’ve seen. #neverForget when we could use twitter to accelerate scientific understanding, rescue people in crisis, and follow major events in real time. I know that lasted at least through the Russian 2022 invasion of Ukraine, though I got shadowbanned 2019 #ateac

I've been trying for 15 years at least to stop big tech from sawing off the branches it was sitting on. But it looks like I (and many, many other good people of course) failed, at least in the US. (yes, still angry about cancel-culture vs #ATEAC) Here's hoping we can keep the rest of the world up.
