The argument that we should dismiss or muffle our concerns over the left because "The right is worse" for me fails because the Left's explicit mission is to defeat the kinds of systemic barriers to freedom and opportunity that the Conservative/Right/fascist movements have either enabled or defended.

When the counter movements seek not to dismantle the repressive power structures but merely supplant them, then the differences between them become meaningless. Moreover, as you point out, it's actually more dangerous because it is those groups which are tasked with "policing" or at the very least providing an alternative. When that policing element is gone, then there's no actual restriction, only a fight for power.
