Chances are they have a ton of cheap #Lazer multifunction units for less than a full pack of #Ink needed to scan (!!!) with those shitty #Inkjet machines.

The only winning move is to refuse to buy such shit!!

@marcan The point is to raise #Awareness of #Apple's #AntiRepairDesign so consumers who used to buy a #MacBook once a decade and then upgrade it's #RAM and #SSD over time or think about replacing their aging MacBooks with something else.
Cuz I'm shure some folks have already #Hackintosh'd a #FrameworkLaptop by this point...
Even if that doesn't come close to the battery runtime of a #AppleSilicon MacBook...

@marcan And whilst one can argue that RAM & SoC won't wear out to the point they need replacing, #SSDs will INEVITABLY FAIL OVER USE AND TIME!
Removing the ability to boot from an external drive if the internal one is broken is just #PlannedObsolescence & #AntiRepairDesign to prevent people from #UseLonger and #Repair as well as #Refurbishing #Apple's devices.
The "#Security" Argument is complete #FUD since by the point the SSD is so dead, no data can be recovered from it without a lab anyway. -

Das Problem ist dass mehr und mehr #AntiRepairDesign normalisiert wird und doe Geräte die ich empfehle - egal ob @Fairphone oder @frameworkcomputer und.selbst (#Vintage-)#ThinkPads - sehr reparabel sind.
Beispielsweise #Tastatur: Was eine einfache 2 Minuten Tätigkeit bei allen besseren Geräten ist...

@SnowBoy @cantences leider hat die @EU_Commission keine Pflicht zur werkzeugfreien Tauschbarkeit von Akkus ohne Ausnahme festgelegt.
Dabei wäre dies machbar - egal ob wasserdicht (Siehe #Samsung #GalaxyS5 oder @Fairphone #FP4 - oder #ATEX-zertifiziert (siehe #Funktel - Geräte)...

@sneak It's not about #UX because otherwise they would've #OpenSource'd it or worked together with other manufacturers to make a better alternative.
They could've adopted #Qi+ as charging standard but chose not to.
They could've chosen to make a connector like with the #iPad's Keyboard Covers, but chose not to.
Like with the #AntiRepairDesign, #Apple doesn't care about it's customers or users beyond how they can maximize profit...
And demanding #MFi #licensing fees is a way to fleece Fans...
