Not a pretty one! This dwarf wind-battered little tree is an Aspen (Popula tremula). Its claim to fame is that it's the only tree on the island of Mingulay in the Outer Hebrides. A follow-on from my post yesterday on Mingulay, here are some of the literally awesome climbing bits. It is very scary setting off on a 100 metre abseil down a sea cliff, hoping the rope is at the correct bit and won't just leave you dangling in the air above the waves. In the crop you can see the abseil ropes, and quite a few teams climbing. #Climbing #Seacliff #Mingulay #Hebrides #Scotland
