A new Google Annoyance I've noticed over the last week; they've changed it so that when you're looking up a restaurant's opening times on google maps you now have to "sign in" to get the opening times dropdown box to open.. You can still get around this by looking up the times in a standard web (non-google-maps) search though.

We (IT department): Please, when creating a ticket describe the issue as precisely as possible, so that we can spend less time asking you "what do you mean by that", and more time actually resolving the issue. Clear, descriptive ticket titles would also be appreciated.
Meanwhile developers are submitting tickets like this:

I decided it was time to check out Firefox alternatives.
LibreWolf came up, and being a FF fork, and a quick check shows it seems to update in a timely manner, I decided to give that a go.
I decided to utilise Firefox Sync to get most of my FF setup imported into LW. Went smoothly enough, although I discovered that the tabs syncing is just providing a list of what's on other devices, not actually creating and populating all of the same windows.
And, of course, some extensions just don't send their settings over Sync, so I had to manually export and import those.
Even then LW, being "privacy focused" still had some settings like ... nuking all history, cache etc on restart, that don't suit my use case. No, I don't want to perform login, MFA etc every time I restart it, on multiple sites/tabs!
So I found and twiddled those knobs back to not obnoxious.Once I'd gotten all my windows, tabs and tab groups set up, with the windows sized just as I like them I quit out of FF and restarted LW.
LW completely fails to remember the sizes of windows! I will at best find this annoying every time I start it up, and at worst it'll just stop me from using it.
As part of this it's *also* not using the size of the currently focused LW window to size any new windows. FF does this and I make good use of it (I have some smaller windows, one large main one, and an intermediate one that is well sized for some other uses).
Yes, I've found a suitable LW issue and added a comment to it.

Starting to refactor my adblock filters and publish them, since I've got some rules some folks might find handy. There will be more than the one list there currently as I clean things up in my custom filters.
So far, just have a list to block Sinclair Broadcasting, but there will be more.

Ever since the November (I think) #Google #Pixel update, almost *every time* I unlock my phone (finger print) the notification slider drops down.
It's only about the most annoying thing ever.
I can almost stop it from happening, if I keep my finger still on the screen until the phone completely wakes up.
Even beyond that, though, this device still loses network far too frequently. I have a hard time suggesting these to anyone anymore.

If you use Firefox Sync to send web pages from mobile to devices with a larger screen, it's very annoying to see all your computers named as "user's Firefox on ...", "user's Firefox on ...", ... so you can't tell which icon is which.
Under the Account → Settings menu (which may only be under the hamburger menu) there's an Account Settings page that allows you to change your computer name to something shorter.

They've been discussing for years to end daylight savings time and stay on summer time all year.
I definitely agree with this option since the whole idea with "summer time" is to maximize hours of daylight in the afternoon which most people enjoy more than more light in the morning.
I just wish the politicians could get their thumbs out of their assess and actually make a decision.
