  18. After a successful @ARISS_Intl contact with KJ5GEW, the radio team wanted to encourage our school champion to keep going on his ham radio journey. So we got him a copy of @kb6nu's No Nonsense Tech exam study guide! Also threw in a spare Baofeng tribander.

    Since we all signed the book for him, he can't just give it away. Plus he has a deadline now. 😄

  23. I finally released the v2.2 software for CubeSatSim, the AMSAT CubeSat Simulator. This release was way too much work. It had too many bug fixes and new features. I need to push releases more frequently, as testing took forever and I kept finding bugs.

    I’m very happy with the release. Combined with having more CubeSatSim Lites available, it is an important step for the project!

  25. What a blast to make contact with the ISS despite the historic medical evacuation of Crew 11 and snow and ice storms on either side of today.

    Chris Williams was a total pro on his first school contact. He was enthusiastic and said it made him think about his own kids.

To that end I've created a satellite ground station controller that runs on a BeagleBone Black SBC. I also designed an I/O "Cape" PCB for use with the BeagleBone Black.
