I #DIDit again!
Your Amazon Photos digital storage subscription has ended.“

#Ente : Indian team, European servers, but American headquarters 💔 In Delaware, where many companies choose to incorporate because of its tax system and its law. So it’s an American company and I’ve just cancelled my monthly subscription. I will test @pixelunion (based on #Immich) and @zeitkapsl 🤞
For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, these are alternatives to #AmazonPhotos, #GooglePhotos and #iCloud #Photos. -

Looking into Immich and self-hosting to replace Amazon Photos for my family, but the costs seem prohibitive. I currently pay ~$80/year for ~1.25TB of video/photo storage, between my wife and I, on Amazon. The equivalent VPS (Digital Ocean) with that much storage is roughly $148/month.
Am I missing something? How do y'all use VPS for image hosting storage and not go broke? 🤔

Looks like Amazon Photos has been gaining a lot of traction lately - a lot of folks around are talking about being a Prime Member and getting unlimited storage.
How secure/private is it? No clue.
- closed source
- no audit reportsThey say it's secure.

I've often read and heard bad things about the #AmazonPhotos app that you have to have in order to use their service and since I mainly run #Linux I haven't had that many dealings with it. But I need to get a bunch of data and decided to just install #Windows10 in a #VM on my #Proxmox
Longer story shorter, I just noticed that the freaking app is #32bit ..
In this day and age? Really Amazon? -

Amazon Drive is shutting down on December 31, but the company has announced it won't delete all your files. Instead they'll be accessible via Amazon Photos. You probably won't be able to upload new non-photo files though. #AmazonDrive #AmazonPhotos #Amazon #CloudStorage

https://www.hetzner.com/storage/storage-share

Just spent nearly an hour trying to pay for a #Flickr Pro account. No go with card or other payment methods. I've been blocked from everything. I need to migrate from #AmazonPrime #AmazonPhotos due to the temptation I have to buy stuff. If & when I can I'll cancel Amazon Prime. Surely there's a way to get this sorted. Mightily pissed off!!!

Amazon Photos: iPhone-App erscheint in Version 9.0
Unbegrenzter […]

Looks like it's time to move from #GooglePhotos to #AmazonPhotos!
Due to Google Photos, it seems i'm paying Google almost $24/month on my Google apps account.

I'm absolutely loathing the new Android update to Amazon Photos. I can't easily see or access any photos not uploaded already or edit anything.
I've now got to have TWO gallery apps just to do anything!?

Amazon’s got everything: underwear, lawnmowers, scented candles, & even a cloud #photo service called #AmazonPhotos 📦 Discover all the good, the bad, & why you should (probably) choose a more private #cloudstorage alternative in our new post ⬇️ https://blog.internxt.com/amazon-photos-alternative/
