I #DIDit again!

🗃️ Heute habe ich den Stecker bei #AmazonPhotos gezogen: „Your Amazon Photos digital storage subscription has ended.“

📱 In den kommenden Stunden/Tagen werde ich meine Geräte dementsprechend konfigurieren, dass sie dorthin keinen automatischen Upload mehr vollziehen können und die App deinstallieren.

📂 In den kommenden Wochen muss ich dann nur noch einmal alle Daten herunterladen und an anderer Stelle als Sicherung verwahren.

Looking into Immich and self-hosting to replace Amazon Photos for my family, but the costs seem prohibitive. I currently pay ~$80/year for ~1.25TB of video/photo storage, between my wife and I, on Amazon. The equivalent VPS (Digital Ocean) with that much storage is roughly $148/month.

Am I missing something? How do y'all use VPS for image hosting storage and not go broke? 🤔

Looks like Amazon Photos has been gaining a lot of traction lately - a lot of folks around are talking about being a Prime Member and getting unlimited storage.

How secure/private is it? No clue.

I've often read and heard bad things about the #AmazonPhotos app that you have to have in order to use their service and since I mainly run #Linux I haven't had that many dealings with it. But I need to get a bunch of data and decided to just install #Windows10 in a #VM on my #Proxmox

Longer story shorter, I just noticed that the freaking app is #32bit ..
In this day and age? Really Amazon?

Amazon Drive is shutting down on December 31, but the company has announced it won't delete all your files. Instead they'll be accessible via Amazon Photos. You probably won't be able to upload new non-photo files though. #AmazonDrive #AmazonPhotos #Amazon #CloudStorage

L'application Android sait envoyer seule les photos prises et on peut ensuite les regrouper dans un dossier puis créer un lien de partage. Et ça n'est pas restreint aux photos !
