Remnants of scarcity

The 4" nails pull out of the western red cedar like silver worms elongating and straightening under tension.
These nails won't be put in an old glass chutney jar and stored,
to be hammered straight enough before re-use.
Though I still put the handful together into an upright rusty tin in the rubbish bin.

The deceit here is that only material scarcity is of consequence.
