I spent the afternoon in Grovers Mill, NJ, where a group of #hamradio folks were celebrating the 87th anniversary of the War of the Worlds broadcast by running special event station W0W (get it?) from a local park. I’m happy to report that Grovers Mill has completely recovered from the events that day and is now an idyllic little corner of Mercer County with a lovely lakeside park. It’s also only about a mile or so east of the Princeton Junction train station, and so not nearly as isolated as I always imagined it being.

Maybe the Martians decided to land there to check out the lake and do a little fishing?
