Alvin Wang Graylin, one of the leading analysts working on AI research at Stanford and MIT, and an adviser to the Xi–Trump AI summit in September, compares the US to the Soviet Union at the end of the Cold War.
Instead of investing in the future, the USSR, due to the arms race with the US, invested everything in weapons of mass destruction and nothing in the future. Weapons have no added value, unless you’re an arms dealer or waging a successful war. But you can never wage a successful war with nuclear weapons.

According to Graylin, the same can be observed in the US, where all investment is flowing into AI data centres that will only make sense in an ideal scenario. If you look at China and its open-source diffusion strategy, it’s easy to see that these data centres will make NO sense. One could say that collapse is inevitable.

Fortunately, Germany is well prepared, investing in education and international friendship. --- Oh, sorry, wrong timeline. We’re screwed. ---

Meanwhile, China is using its high technology to streamline administration and the economy. One interesting project is HKGAI in Hong Kong. The aim is to reduce the bureaucracy to a minimum. When you realise how important civil servants have been in China since the time of Confucius, you’ll be astonished.

Alvin Wang Graylin einer der führenden Analysten der zur KI‑Forschung Mitarbeiter in Stanford und beim MIT und Berater für das Xi‑Trump-AI‑Treffen im September, vergleicht die USA mit der Sowjetunion am Ende des Kalten Krieges.

Die UdSSR hat, anstatt in die Zukunft zu investieren, aufgrund des Wettrüstens mit den USA alles in Massenvernichtungswaffen investiert und nichts in die Zukunft. Waffen haben ja keinen Mehrwert, es sei denn, man ist Waffenhändler oder führt einen erfolgreichen Krieg. Mit Atomwaffen führt man aber nie einen erfolgreichen Krieg.

Gleiches kann man laut Graylin in den USA beobachten, wo die gesamte Investition in KI‑Rechenzentren fließt, die nur in einem Idealszenario Sinn ergeben werden. Schaut man nach China und der Open-Source-Diffusionsstrategie, kann man leicht sagen, diese Rechenzentren werden KEINEN Sinn ergeben. Man könnte sagen, der Untergang ist unvermeidlich.

Zum Glück ist Deutschland gut gerüstet, investiert in Bildung und internationale Freundschaft. --- Oh, sorry, falsche Zeitlinie. Wir sind gefickt. ---

Unterdessen nutzt China ihre Hochtechnologie, um die Verwaltung und die Wirtschaft zu rationalisieren. Interessantes Projekt ist HKGAI in Hongkong. Ziel ist es, die Verwaltung auf ein Minimum zu schrumpfen. Wenn man weiß, wie wichtig die Beamten in China seit Konfuzius sind, wird man verblüfft sein.
